New Internet Radio Show Aims To Bring U.K.'s Metal Scene To Fans In Spain And South America
September 4, 2006Starting in early September, a new Internet radio show will bring the U.K.'s rock and metal scene to fans in Spain and South America.
A longtime collaborator of Kerrang! Spain and Heavy Rock magazine as a freelance writer and photographer, London-based music journalist Dany Serrano is now starting his own radio show for K! Spain's MariskalRock web site.
The show, which will be recorded once a week in a top London studio, aims to bring all the news and the best music from the U.K.'s rock and metal scene to the 70,000 weekly listeners across Spain and South America that log on to MariskalRock's Internet radio station. After its first airing, each show will be on rotation for an entire week, being played up to 15 times as part of MariskalRock's regular programming. The show's playlist will include both established and upcoming U.K. bands, news, gig reviews, and interviews.
According to a press release, "This is an incredible opportunity for bands that have yet to break into the Spanish and South American markets, reaching a growing number of loyal listeners from an Internet-based radio station, run by the people behind the top-selling rock and metal magazines in the international Spanish-speaking market."
The first show will be recorded on September 9 and aired over the week beginning September 11.
